Heroines Festival

Sunday 15 September 2019 from 10am to 6pm
Thirroul District Community Centre and Library

This writers and readers festival aims to tell women’s stories, giving women a place in our official histories and imagining the future for women.

Barbie speaks with festival director Sarah Nicholson

A number of women writers with some from the south coast region and Canberra region will speak, including Robyn Cadwallader , Jesse Blackadder, Kate Forsyth, Claire Corbett, Cat Sparks, Julie Keys, Tea cooper, Karen Brooks and Kerr Turner.

Publisher Jo Mackay will discuss her HQ’s Herstory campaign and there will be stories of resistance and rebellion from Australian history.

This is a relaxed, affordable format festival with a single venue for presentations, allowing guests to enjoy all the writers. There will also be readings and signings by authors. It takes place in a beautiful coastal town – visitors are encouraged to soak up some of the natural beauty of the region whilst at the festival.  Find out more at https://www.theneoperennialpress.com/heroinesfestival/
