The Dressmaker producer Sue Maslin has donated the original costumes from the 2015 film based on Rosalie Ham’s eponymous novel to the NFSA as part of the permanent national collection.
The sumptuous haute couture gracing the screen and now the NFSA collection was designed for the most part by Marion Boyce who will be known to people, amongst other things, for her work on the Phryne Fisher TV series costumes. Costumes for Tilly the dressmaker herself, Kate Winslet, were designed by Margot Wilson.
Tickets $13/$10 conc./$7 children 5 and up. Bookings essential at https://www.nfsa.gov.au/thedressmaker
