Stories of ice addiction & recovery
A Tuggeranong Arts Centre project
7 to 30 November 2019
On Thin Ice is a multi-media exhibition produced by social justice journalist/author Ginger Gorman, photographers Hilary Wardhaugh and Martin Ollman, sculptor Tom Buckland and printmaker Jess Higgins, made in collaboration with members of our community recovering from or living with addiction to crystal methamphetamine (ice).
The project, which was initiated by TAC is another example of the centre’s focus on social issues and community engagement. The aim is to use the arts to share stories and engender empathy, promoting recovery as a supported and collective effort.
This powerful and significant exhibition includes sound, photography, prints and sculpted works. The exhibition catalogue was produced with the help of a crowd funding campaign and includes the stories of participants Linda, Myalla, Mitchell, Ann, Nicole and Paul.
TAC is open Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm
